What we do as Eco-Warriors
Eco Warriors at Hinguar
Our Eco Warriors form an important part of our school. Our EW duties include litter picking, emptying food bins into the compost bin, watering the allotment and of course setting an ‘Eco Friendly’ example for classmates.
We hold regular meetings each half term and are always looking to find new ways to improve our impact and help our environment. Below are the weekly and daily jobs we do:

Essex Wildlife Trust
Eco Warriors will continue to work with Andrew the Essex Wildlife Trust Warden to help him look after the Garrison Park and in return he will help us manage our wild-life area in our school grounds. We are delighted that our work with Andrew will continue this year and we will start our new Eco-Warrior Club in the Autumn Term.
Eco Award
We are hoping to achieve an Eco award during this academic year. EW are expected to take their roles seriously and to actively help us in achieving the award. Mrs Long has agreed to work with us as our parent/Grandparent Eco Warrior link and we look forward to working with her & sharing her experience of having an allotment and her keen interest in the outdoors.
Trees
We have applied for some free tree packs to help us to further develop our outdoor area & are awaiting confirmation of delivery dates
